Below the Head

I've been working on heads for a long time now, and I'm finally happy (enough) for now with the progress I made with them. Onward and below we go! It's time to refresh my knowledge of everything below the head. I'll be using Michael Hampton's "Figure Drawing Design and Invention" book as well as the video tutorials by Proko for the next leg of my studies.

Basic torso shapes and landmarks.

Finding those landmarks from different angles.

More torso shapes - trying to place them in more extreme angles.

The bean! It's important to pay attention to how the major masses twist, bend, and stretch.

Sternocleidomastoid. That's a mouthful. Muscles connects the sternum to the mastoid.

Pectoralis. Moving the arms around changes it's shape.
